Jean has been working with childbearing families since 1980. Her training and experience has afforded her the opportunity to offer a wide range of unique and personalized services. Jean believes that education and knowledge are essential in gaining confidence and empowering the family to make informed choices. Jean is a Childbirth Educator of twenty-five years and in 1993 became one of the first certified Doulas in North America . Since 1995, Jean has been sharing her passion by training future Doulas through workshops and apprenticeships. Jean, who currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona, is the mother of five children and has been married to her husband, Dan, for 27 years.

3. Birth and Beyond - Includes three prenatal visits and two postpartum visits
- Access to a trained and certified Doula who will provide you with skilled
physical and emotional support during Labor and Delivery.This will include
three prenatal visits and two postpartum follow up visits. A retainer fee
will apply to secure your Doula two weeks before and two weeks after your
estimated due date.
- Your Doula will explore comfort measures for labor (massage, hydrotherapy,
aromatherapy, breathing techniques) that will
maximize your individuality and what works best for you.
- Consults and helps implement your Birth Plan (your wishes and desires for your birth). A very popular tool for families and care providers to discuss options available to in a hospital setting.
- Provides breastfeeding support and information
- Helps families to integrate the birth experience
4. Postpartum Doula Care – One week of in home (seven days) services. Under her watchful care you will be assured the new mother is getting adequate rest and nutrition. The seven days of services may be distributed over the first two weeks postpartum. Duties would include, but not limited to:
- Prepares and serves meals
- Light housekeeping
- Running errands
- Assisting with care of the newborn(s)
